Nicki Minaj bypassed being golden and went straight to platinum status with her latest single.
The first lady of YMCMB’s rump-shaking song “Anaconda” was just released on iTunes in the U.K. on Sunday (Oct. 5) and two days later the Queen was elated to also announce her song has officially gone platinum. “Just released on UK iTunes and is now certified #Platinum in America #Anaconda #PolowDaDon #DaInternz @bigjuice205 on the boards baby!!!!!! #ThePinkPrint 11.24.14,” Nicki wrote on Instagram along with a picture of the cover art.
The fact that the single is platinum is no surprise. It set a new VEVO record after it racked up a whopping 19.6 million views in 24 hours.
“Anaconda” is the second single off of Nicki's highly anticipated The PinkPrint, due out on Nov. 24.
