It's seems Ashiaman based reggae/dancehall sing jay Stonebwoy has been the talk of the town seen last year and this year. A horde of music fans and high profile celebrities like Bola Ray, Blakk Rasta, George Britton, Elorm Beenie, Samini, etc keep felicitating the Bhimnation activist for the kind of music he does, not just the genre but his lyrics, energy, style and most importantly how humble he is. He has extremely put in a lot of hard work from being an underground artist to emerging as a big act in Ghana, with international recognition.
I remember the days of Kasahari on Adom Fm 106.3 hosted by Dr. Duncan. When the likes of Sarkodie, Kwaw Kesse, Okra, Obrafour, Tinny the list continuous were seriously rapping in our popular dialect Twi and Ga, Stonebwoy in his right and best capacity decided to follow a different trend which was reggae/dancehall. He use to battle a lot of MC's as of the year 2004 thereabout.
The journey has been blisteringly tough for Stonebwoy, with so many obstacles and shortcomings but as Bob Marley said ''Who Jah Bless No One Curse'', he is now one the high profile or highly rated musicians in Ghana and Africa at large.
On twitter today BET award winner and Ghana's most fastest rapper Sarkodie tweeted with a picture with Stonebwoy today :
''So proud of @stonebwoyb!! U really doing good lil bro. remember u walked up to me bk in school & said u cud do dis http://t.co/qSwyQp0pwA''
From the above quote, one can conclude Sarkodie saw Stonebwoy's hustle and tussle from day one, they actually schooled together. Sarkodie tweeted from a deep and it speaks volume.
One this note kudos to Stonebwoy for his hard work and success. We are expecting more from him this year and rest of the coming years.
