JUASO - KUMASI - Apparently the student were returning from a field trip to Accra when the driver of one of the three buses conveying the students thought it prudent to overtake a petrol oil tanker ahead of them.
Reports on UGFile, have it that students of the KNUST Engineering Dept. were involved in a horrible accident on the Accra-Kumasi road.
Apparently the student were returning from a field trip to Accra when the driver of one of the three buses conveying the students, thought it prudent to overtake a petrol oil tanker ahead of them. After several maneuvers, the driver, failing in his attempt to overtake the tanker decided to retreat and retire behind the tanker.
However, the driver of the petrol tanker had noticed the former's attempt to overtake him and had considerably slowed down to facilitate this, this resulted in a collision which sent the students shooting forward and ramming into seats and each other.
There was no death recorded and the injured students were sent to the nearest hospital, the Juaso District Hospital for first aid, and later transferred to the KNUST Hospital.
